We’ve been wanting to do a DIY Patche Jacket for a long time now and with Winnie The Pooh day we got inspired to start with this theme. After a few hours of researching patches across the web, we finally found our favorites. First, we outlined them in photoshop as a mockup so we can get an idea of which ones went together and then we ordered all our patches.
We found this jacket at Target but any denim jacket would work for this project. Here are some of our favorites:
Here are the exact products we used for this DIY project:
You only need a few supplies for this DIY:
Step 1. Find a flat surface to work on and bring all your supplies.
Step 2. Flatten your denim jacket by opening it, make sure your buttons are not laying under the area you’ll be ironing.
Step 3. Lay out your patches in the position you wish to attach them. This is where you’ll want to make sure they are perfect!
Step 4. Gently place a pillowcase on top of your patches.
Step 5. With your iron on the highest setting, gently press down on the patches and move around to make sure you get them all.
Step 6. Slowly pull up the pillowcase and make sure everything is attached, if not, put the pillowcase back and keep ironing.
Step 7. Thread your needle and tie 2 knots at the end of your string.
Step 8. Start stitching the patches on for extra security. You don’t need too many stitches, just enough to anchor the patches.
Step 9. Tie a knot like in the video to secure your stitches and repeat steps 7-9 for your other patches.
Step 10. Iron the patches one more time for extra security and voila, you’re all done!
