1) Please, introduce yourself! We want to get to know you.

First of all, I just wish we could sit down with a cup of coffee in hand so that you could share your story with me! Maybe one day. In the meantime, thanks for reading mine! My name is Alexandra Jordan Mason. I’m an Oklahoma native who loves Jesus, my handsome man, and all things creative. I’m a homebody by nature who loves to get out and see the world now and again, mostly behind the lens of my camera.

 

2) We love the way you see the world! Tell us what inspires your photos the most.

I’m inspired by light. I started playing around with a camera in high school. Once I was old enough to drive, I would explore around the back roads of my parent’s little country town, hunting for pockets of light shining down from the sky. The light can make even the ugliest of scenes beautiful. It may sound cheesy, but it’s truly a spiritual experience.

3) The Sweetheart persona loves being in good company. What is your favorite memory with your friends?

My fondest memories are made laughing, crying, and chatting around the fire in our little backyard. Hammocks, beverages, twinkly lights, and late nights always bring about a full heart.

 

4) What is your favorite piece of literature and why?

To be honest, I don’t have much of an attention span to sit down and actually read, but I love listening to audio books! It’s hard to choose my favorite book of all time, so I’ll share the most impactful book I read in 2014: “Women of the Word” by Jen Wilkin. This book totally revolutionized the way I go about studying Scripture. If you’re a woman who loves Jesus and you want to grow spiritually, it’s a must read!

 

5) The Sweetheart persona is all about kindness. Who has had the biggest influence in your life when it comes to being taught ‘how to be kind’?

Every day of my life I’ve seen kindness personified through my mama. I’ll offer an example. Last year on her birthday, she went around town giving gifts and notes of gratitude to people who serve her every day, like the Starbucks barista or the fitness instructors at her gym. She’s a little lady, but she loves big, and she’s had a greater influence on me than any other human on the planet.

 

6) What makes your heart beat? What do you believe in, stand for?

I believe that God has created all things, including me, with purpose and intentionality. He’s given each of us a unique gifting. From a young age, I’ve determined to strive for His glory and not my own. My hope and my ultimate goal for my life and my business is to point others to him.

7) What is your career and what led you to choose that path?

I take pictures, mostly of people. I’ve been doing it since early high school when friends and family asked me to take their photographs. When it was time to choose a career path, my parent’s encouraged me to pursue photography. I went to college where I continued to chase this passion of mine. Over time, I fell more and more in love with the craft. I had no clue you could do something with such passion, especially for a living, and I am so grateful.

8)  If you can describe your ideal day how would it go?

My ideal day involves a bath in the morning and the evening. The only distinction between the two would be the beverage of choice, which would of course be coffee in the morning and tea in the evening. Both would involve a bath bomb from Lush. After my morning bath I would get cozy and spend time reading my Bible and journaling while listening to some praise and worship music. Lunch would include a delicious, home-cooked meal, followed by an afternoon walk and a Netflix movie marathon. I told you I’m a homebody at heart! It’s the little things that make me happy.
