Ok ladies, we all know we have a million tasks to get done but when we’re disorganized we can feel overwhelmed and unable to accomplish what’s ahead! But the truth is, you CAN do it! It’s probably not as much as you think. So let’s talk about getting organized. Here’s a few tips on how to get organized using a planner. I used to be someone who would buy a planner and never use it, but once I got the hang of it and discovered what worked for me, I can’t live without it! Here’s a few tips and tricks that work for me:
Step 1: Buy a cute planner! I love the brand Ban.do and so far this has been my favorite planner I have owned. I like Ban.do because they are fun. They have stickers, are colorful, and honestly just so much fun to flip through. Make sure you get one that you will enjoy looking at everyday. This is the only way you will be inspired to actually use it!
Step 2: Ok, now that we have a cute planner let’s start using it! Get some fun colored pens and highlighters so you can categorize tasks. The first thing I do is go to the beginning of each month where it has the calendar layout of the whole month. Then I write in important dates and events here. This way I can save the weekly pages for the tasks I need to complete each day.
Step 3: Writing out day to day tasks is the best way to stay on top of everything and not be too overwhelmed. At the beginning of each week sit down and write out the tasks you know you need to complete. I find that I am most productive when I write my tasks on the day I plan to complete them rather than when they are actually due. I categorize each task depending on what it is for, for example, class, work, errands, chores, etc.
Step 4: Finally, my absolute favorite part of using a planner is crossing off completed tasks! It feels so good to check off the box once a task is completed. Sometimes I even write down a task I have already completed just so that I can cross it off! There’s no shame in that ladies 😉 It is so satisfying to be able to look back at an organized planner with all your tasks crossed off. You’ll be surprised at how much more efficient you can be with your time when it’s all laid out in front of you and broken down day by day. Let’s get organized!
