1) Background Story:
We immigrated here from Germany in 2008. We have always been used to very strong flavors that are not overly sweet and wanted to share that kind of ice cream with our new home. We opened about five months ago but did not do the animals until about three months ago because we wanted to perfect the gelato first before attracting more customers.
2) How You Are Different:
All our gelato is made fresh in store every single day. We only use fresh products and do not use any food coloring. Our gelato is also NON-GMO. We wanted to do something fun to put smiles on our customers every single time they receive a cone or cup and decided to shape them into animals. We have a teddy, a piggy and doggy as our regular and come up with new seasonal animals for the holidays.
3) What is your most popular item?
Our most popular item is the Teddy Gelato. You can get up to 3 different flavors with it, which includes the head and the two ears.
4) Do you have multiple locations?
As of right now we only have one location but we are definitely planning on expanding within this year.
5) What are your future goals for Eiswelt Gelato?
We want to be able to expand and serve more customers. We want to make it more accessible to other people. We have customers driving hours just to get our gelato and we want to make it easier for them.
6) How many flavors do you have?
We serve 18-20 flavors at the same time, but switch out flavors for the holidays.
7) Do you have seasonal items and when should we look for them?
We have seasonal flavors and holiday themed animals. We usually post new creations or flavors on our Instagram.
Our Experience:
What’s better than gelato in the form of cute lil animals and roses?! Every flavor that we tried was so yummy and adorable (our favorite one being the monkey which we named Johnny. Yes, we most certainly did name all of our animal friends hah). It was so lovely getting to chat with the owner and hearing her story about how she came about with this clever business. Gelato, friends, and sunny weather.. ‘Twas a great way to spend Galentines Day.
