Spring is so close to being here! Which means it’s almost time to bust out everything bright and floral. So what better way to lighten up your space than with these super simple and cute mini succulent pots?
Materials Needed:
- Mini Terra Cotta pots (I scored mine at my local DollarTree for $1 for a pack of 3)
- Acrylic paints in white and other various colors
- Paintbrushes
- Washi tape (optional, but helpful when creating designs with straight lines)
- Liquid gold paint (be careful with this stuff because it is strong)
- Succulents
- Potting soil
To decorate these pots it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3… ( as simple as do, re, mi, A, B, C, 1, 2, 3 Baby you and me girl)
Step #1:
Coat both the outside and inside of your pot with a thin coat of white paint. If your paint is sheer you might want to add a second coat, so wait for the first coat to dry and then add your second layer.
Step #2:
With the color of your choice apply one to two layers to your pot until the color is completely opaque. For these pots, I choose to paint the top lip a darker shade of the color that I choose for the body of my pot, but feel free to paint these whichever way you wish.
Step #3:
Once your pot is 100% dry to the touch, you can start mapping out any design your heart desires with the washi tape and paint it with the liquid gold paint. Because the liquid gold is very difficult to remove from the bristles of the brushes, I recommend using a brush that you’ll throw away after this project. Now all that’s left is to plant your succulents and just like that your masterpiece is complete!
