Creative Of The Month
– Arielle Estoria –
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you consider yourself a Creative.
Hayyy! My name is Arielle Estoria (my first two names, there’s two more but that’s a secret —but not really). I am born and raised in Northern California but moved to Southern California because I am a hippie sun child through and through. I am a lover of breakfast foods, coffee and conversations that sit on the soul. I consider myself a creative because I have always found beauty in the little nooks and crannies of life that you have to really search for. I consider myself a creative because I am a lover of words, of connecting them together and painting a picture –usually in the form of poetry. I consider myself a creative because well I was intentionally created therefore I have the ability to create!
2) Who inspires you the most?
Goodness, so many people. My friends–my creative community who inspires and encourages me daily- they are not hustlers, they are the mountain movers and shakers who put out such beauty into this world that inspires me to do the same. The crazy people out there who dare to dream- the ones who live glitter in the steps behind them and don’t worry about the mess. The boldly unashamed in their calling- the ones who keep pushing no matter how much is in their way. Also Adele- because she’s magic and I love her.
3) What is the last book you read and what is your all time favorite read?
The last book I read in full? “If you find this letter” which would also be my favorite read. It’s written by Hannah Brencher, who is also someone that inspires me tons. I finished the book on a train, cried my eyes out and wrote a blog.
4) How do you express yourself?
Words words words. I love them- they’re a huge part of me. My love language is words of affirmation of course and so that’s how I best receive and also give love and also express the deepest and most vulnerable parts of me.
5) What is your most favorite project you’ve ever worked on?
Symphony of a Lioness– my first album of poetry and music. Music written and album produced by dear friend and brother Aaron Aiken. That project is my baby and my first big leap into this creative life, sometimes I’m nervous that I’ll never be able to create something that raw, that genuine that honest—I hope I can though.
6) What would be your biggest and wildest dream concerning your creative talent?
Woah— I would love to be nominated for a Grammy that would be pretty neat. But also I have a real undercover heart for acting as well and how cool would it be to interlace the two? I would love to play a role where I could being doing what I love (poetry) while also doing what I love (acting)– that would be bonkers!
7) Describe your perfect day.
Okay- I have two.
1.Wake up without any alarm–go for a walk or yoga. Get dressed in something that makes me feel effortless and go to brunch with a group of friends, have those gut wrenching, heart warming conversations and have it linger into the afternoon and then attend a show of a friends or have one of my own in the evening. Come home, blog and write with tea (or wine) and fall asleep watching something on Hulu.
2. Wake up early before the sun, get coffee and donuts and go sit on the beach until the sun rises. Stay there for a few hours until you’re hungry, get food near the beach (probably a breakfast burrito or tacos), go back to the beach and read, nap enjoy resting and the wander around the beach town until the sun naps start to catch up to you. Both would be lovely!
8) If you only had one tool for the rest of your life to express your creativity, what would it be?
Woah- good question. Music probably (is that a tool?), it’s so transcending and you can communicate so much with just a few notes or codes, you don’t even need words just a good tune.
9) If you were a character in a book, who would you be and why?
I don’t know if I have an answer to this! Actually — i don’t. I definitely don’t have an answer to this haha whoops!
